Teacher (General)

What is a Teacher?

Teachers are generally responsible for providing education to children and young adults. They craft lesson plans and schedules, carry out those plans to groups of students in the form of lessons, track student progress and inform parents or guardians and perform other supervisory tasks.

Teacher Duties

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to groups of students in the class
  • Conform to teaching standards and provide education according to educational needs and abilities of students
  • Assign work to students
  • Correct and mark student work and assign grades based on performance
  • Promote progress and learning of their students
  • Provide guidance and advice to individual students on educational matters
  • Review and evaluate teaching strategies and change teaching methods to improve educational standards
